Sarah Stephenson, LMSW
Sarah Stephenson, LMSW earned both her Bachelor’s (2024) and Master’s (2025) degrees in Social Work from West Texas A&M University. Over the past four years, she has gained valuable experience in various mental health settings across Amarillo, including Texas Panhandle Centers and Family Support Services. Working with diverse populations has deepened her appreciation for the uniqueness of each individual’s story. Sarah is passionate about creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered and heard.
Originally from a 110-acre ranch near Austin, TX, Sarah was raised with a deep love for horses. She grew up riding, training, and caring for longhorns, and spent summers learning about the therapeutic benefits of equine-assisted activities from her aunt. Her passion for horsemanship remains strong, and she continues to own, train, and share her horses with others through equine-assisted learning, lessons, and training. She firmly believes in the healing power of horses and hopes to incorporate equine therapy into her practice in the future.
After spending a few years in Ohio, Sarah and her family relocated to Amarillo. Though the climate was an adjustment, she has come to appreciate the city’s growing and diverse culture. She, her husband, and their daughters now proudly call Amarillo home, spending much of their time outdoors with their animals, family, and friends. Sarah is thrilled to join Neuro-Forge Therapy under the supervision of Melissa Preece, LCSW, LCDC and she is committed to continuous growth in her work as a therapist.
